Two weeks before surgery:

It is forbidden to take the following drugs 2 weeks before the operation: (These drugs increase your risk of bleeding)

• Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Gelofen, Diclofenac, Indomethacin, Mefenamic acid
• Herbal medicines, herbal teas, garlic
• vitamin E
• Any bodybuilding supplement
• Topical head solutions such as minoxidil

If you have symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath or body aches, please contact the clinic.

• Start taking 1000 mg of vitamin C twice a day as it helps in healing.

One week before surgery:

It is forbidden to take the following drugs from 1 week before the operation:

• Alcohol consumption (one week before and after surgery)
• Smoking cigarettes and nicotine products (nicotine constricts blood vessels and blood rich in oxygen to the surgical site makes it difficult.)

The day before your procedure:

• Wash your hair with a mild shampoo the night before the operation or the morning of the operation.
• in the afternoon of the day before surgery, you will receive a phone call from the hair transplant team to set the time of your surgery.

On the day of your surgery:

• Eat a light breakfast (nothing oily, fried or greasy). Avoid caffeine on the day of surgery.
• We provide you with lunch. Please inform the staff of any food allergies or restrictions
• Wear comfortable clothes that do not need to be pulled over your head. A button-up or zip-up shirt is best. (Some patients like to wear sweatpants for comfort)
• Cell phones should be turned off during your procedure unless listening to music or podcasts.
• After the implantation is completed, you should be taken home by a family member or friend.

Care after hair transplant:

• In many places of transplant, you will see small scabs. These usually fall out within 7-10 days. Please do not separate them.
• Leave your dressing in place until your next visit one day after surgery, at which time it will be removed by our nurse.
• During the first few weeks after the operation, you may experience hair loss from the grafts. This is to be expected and your new hair will begin to grow approximately 3-6 months after the procedure. And the final result takes 1 year.
• For 1 week after the operation, avoid bending, lifting and straining and vigorous activity. Excessive activity can cause swelling, bleeding, and loss of ligaments.
• Slight bleeding during the night is normal. To protect your sheets, you can use a disposable towel on the pillow.
• Itching is common during the healing phase. There is an anti-itch pill in your prescription.
• In case of FUT operation, visit the clinic 2 weeks after the operation to remove the sutures.

Folliculitis:  Folliculitis is one or more overgrown hairs that cause pimple-like lesions. Sometimes, when new hair starts to grow on the surface, the patient may have this problem. If this happens, apply a warm, damp cloth to the area for a few minutes, three times a day.

It will not affect your result. If the area does not improve after a few days of treatment, please call the office.

Numbness:  There will most likely be some numbness at the suture line and graft site. This is normal and will go away after six to eight weeks. Some patients may notice small areas that remain numb for up to a year.

Washing head and eyebrows after hair transplant:

The washing method is very important especially in the first two weeks. Regular washing twice a day during the first two weeks will eliminate scabs and prevent infection. A short video has been prepared for detailed information on how to wash, which will be sent to you by the consultant of the planting department on the last day of planting.
