PDO thread lift is a non-surgical method to lift the face and jawline. Threads can improve skin tone and improve mild to moderate sagging without surgical incisions or bulking. This is better that PDO monofilament thread lift combined with other skin tightening methods such as HIFU and filler injection.

What is a thread lift?

Thread lift is a useful method to lift the face and improve skin color and achieve tightening in the middle to lower part of the face and jaw line. Threads help with this through a process called neocollagenesis or fibrosis. It tightens and lifts the skin.

Threads work by naturally stimulating collagen production. The great advantage of threads is that they stimulate collagen and lift without adding volume to the facial area.

Who is the ideal candidate for a thread lift?

The ideal candidate will have a medium to thick layer of skin (dermis). If the skin and associated subcutaneous tissue (fat layer) is too heavy, the threads will have a limited capacity to lift.

The ideal age for a thread lift is 20 to 50 years old. Most patients over the age of 50 are likely to benefit from a surgical facelift. Thread lift can be an alternative to face lift for older patients who are unable to perform surgery for medical reasons.

Because a thread lift can be performed under local anesthesia, many of these people who are not medically qualified for surgery can safely undergo this treatment. The durability of thread is about 8 to 12 months and in some cases it is more.
