What is the cause of double chin?
The three main factors are age, genetics and diet.
Age: As you age, your metabolism slows down. Adipose tissue accumulates in different areas during the life cycle. Fat in the pubic area begins to accumulate in the late 20s and peaks in the 40s. The loss of skin collagen aggravates this problem, which itself causes skin laxity.
Genetics: If you have a genetic tendency to have more fat cells in the chin area, you are more likely to develop jowls as you age.
Diet: Having a high-calorie diet that causes obesity and fat accumulation causes bloating.
What are the effective ways to reduce double chin?
- Diet and lifestyle changes
- Fat dissolving meso injections
- Troscalpt
- Liposuction
- Skin tightening such as HIFU
LIPOSUCTION :
Why is liposuction is my favorite treatment?
I mostly use non-surgical treatments because these treatments are less invasive but for double chin, suction is a good treatment with the best result.
Predictable results: Other treatments rely on your immune system to remove fat. Liposuction relies on me to physically remove the fat. I trust my skill set more than your immune system. On average, between 40 and 150 ml of fat is removed from the area under the chin.
Only one session is needed: 95% of patients need only one session of liposuction procedure.
Fast recovery time: after liposuction, you can return to daily activities within 2-3 days. Swelling decreases within 36 hours after surgery. Bruising takes a little longer.
Skin tightening: Liposuction can tighten the skin through controlled skin regeneration. Performing HIFU after liposuction makes the collagen and skin of the double chin area become tighter. This operation is performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia and has a very short recovery period.
MESOTHERAPY:
How does fat dissolving meso work?
Fat dissolving injection or deoxycholic acid is a natural bile acid produced by the body for fat metabolism. This chemical can be injected into the double chin to reduce fat.
The benefits of injections include:
The minimally invasive method (injection) is a relatively easy method
Disadvantages of injection: This is my least favorite method, for the following reasons:
Significant pain (this can be reduced with anesthetic injections) Significant swelling and bruising that lasts 5-8 days Fat dissolution is delayed and therefore the outcome is not predictable Case 2-4 sessions it is needed.
TRUSCALPT:
How does Trusculpt work?
It Works with RF system. When the fat cells are exposed to the waves and the resulting heat, undergo apoptosis or cell destruction.
The advantage of truscalpt is the non-invasive nature of the procedure with a quick recovery time. When the fat is gone the cells are destroyed forever. Most patients need 2 to 3 sessions for optimal results.
Are the results permanent?
Most results are long-lasting. The most predictable results are from liposuction as we physically remove between 20 and 140 ml of fat from the area. This means that the fat cells are physically removed. The remaining fat cells do not proliferate, so by definition the results are permanent.
The caveat is that the remaining fat cells (approximately 10% of adipose tissue) may increase in size with lifestyle changes. Therefore, in case of weight gain (fat), the size of these cells may increase, but their number does not increase. Keep your lifestyle healthy, and it’s not a problem.
The problem is getting older. I have no miracle solution for it. Remember that the second aspect of treating the groin area is loose skin and tissue. Over time, the tissue loosens. The rate at which collagen loosens and breaks down is determined by your genetics and your lifestyle choices (smoking,UV) increases the breakdown of collagen.
