The operation of subcision to treat scar is performed in two methods, which is done on an outpatient basis and with local anesthesia in the clinic.
In the “cannula” method, first, the tumescent solition, which includes anesthesia, is injected under the desired area. At this stage, you feel a little pain, which is completely bearable. Then, with special cannulas, we separate the adhesions under the scar and by stimulating the skin, we increase collagen production.
The recovery period in the subcision is 3-4 days, and a large percentage of the swelling caused by the injection of tumescent is removed within 3-4 days. This method is sufficient for most people in one session.
In the local subcision method, we use a needle under each scar to remove a controlled hematoma to fill the cavity. This method may require 1 to 3 sessions at least one month apart.
In the first session of acne treatment, a combined subcision (including two methods) is usually performed for you. In the case of other scars, only local subcision is performed.
